What Do Your Kids Know About Coronavirus — And Why They’re Not In School?
“Mommy, can I marry you when I grow up?” “Dad, why is there hair on your back?” If you have young kids, then you know
I don’t know if it was the guilt of loving ice cream so much or what, but I’ve always been somewhat health-conscious and careful about overindulging. It certainly didn’t hurt that even when I was young, I got along well with fruits and vegetables. I’m sure I can thank my mom and mama (grandmother) for that. When people tell me they don’t like vegetables, I kind of want to force feed them brussels sprouts.
Through the years I found myself gravitating toward healthcare topics, and when I’d hear about someone having a particular illness — celebrity, friend, stranger — I’d research it. Of course, that probably just points to the journalist in me. Now, CareContent has given me a real reason for my healthcare research.
My interest in healthcare definitely skyrocketed with the passing of Obamacare. Even though I’d already had my own experience with health insurance companies, medical costs, etc., I was fascinated (still am) by the conversation.
Prior to CareContent, I worked for a recruitment marketing company that had a large healthcare client base. I became really interested in how they did things as a whole, not just the work we did for them.
Because of my varied background in publishing, real estate, and marketing, I’ve been fortunate enough to write about a wide range of topics, and I love that I now get the opportunity to write about a topic that I’ve always found interesting.
I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism (with a concentration in magazine editing) from Columbia College Chicago and a master’s degree from DePaul University in writing & publishing.
