Content Production Manager & Accessibility Lead

In hindsight, it makes a lot of sense that I ended up finding my passion in healthcare content marketing.
I always knew I would be a writer. That was a given pretty much from the time I started pretending to read books at about two years old. I would sit there just making up stories as I flipped the pages, oblivious to the world around me.
As a kid, I would watch medical shows on TV and think, “Wow, this is gross and I really shouldn’t be watching this as a child” — yet I couldn’t look away. I was fascinated. And then in high school, I spent a lot of time in the nurses’ office, working as a student aide and soaking it all in.
Despite what should have been obvious to me at that point, as an English major in undergrad, I actually thought I would become a high school English teacher. But then I went on to pursue a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on nonfiction writing. That’s when I started out as an intern at CareContent, and everything started to come together. It sounds cliché, I know, but it truly is a gift to get to do what you love for a living. And what I love is promoting health literacy through awesome content.
